We have this one big, beautiful life to live - with so many chapters to write and live out. Tender, mountain-top moments coupled with the moments when we feel as if our hearts are breaking. Life is about both experiences. I've traveled around the sun enough times to have experienced both, many times. With 15 years church staff experience, I wore many hats with my one heart - pastoral care provided the joys of kissing lots of new babies and drying the happy tears of young brides, but it also challenged my heart muscles to console the grieving and to bury many more. Clinical pastoral education after my days as a Jayhawk gave me life lessons that couldn't be taught from a textbook but only felt through the living moments that flash by to a memory. Serving most recently on staff at a local Hospice House taught me to live better, love richer, and also stoked my desire to be the voice for others when needed - to give you "Something to Remember".
Your ceremony should be as unique as you two are, without a "cookie cutter" feeling. I vow to you my gifts of timeliness, creativity, vast experience, and a sense of humor. It helps. Before booking, let's meet – I can officiate for many, but I want to be the right one for you! If we meet and I’m not your choice, I’ll have met two new people and you can continue your search for the Officiant right for you. This is important, and above all else, I want you both to be happy.
Whether you are saying, "I do" or "I still do", make your ceremony as unique as your love. Vows: Do you know the feelings you want to express, but just can’t find the words? I have the words, and I can help you with that. I want your vows to be, well, YOURS so I won’t write them word for word for you out of respect of your heart and your feelings, but I’m happy to proofread, make suggestions or edits as needed. Communication: I will be responsive to your calls, texts, emails.
You provide the marriage license, bring a witness, and I will pronounce you husband and wife – usually best for very small, intimate weddings.
Vow Renewal: You provide the history, I'll provide the words for your re-commitment.
Officiant price includes -
A meeting where you share your love story and tell me what is meaningful and desired for your wedding ceremony. (I make it all easy, I promise!)
A customized, personal ceremony - from that first look to that kiss that seals the deal. I will provide you with a copy 4-6 weeks before your big day for your review – I want you to have exactly what you want and to ensure you feel free to make edits ahead of time.
All of the Customized Wedding Service options, plus a formal rehearsal. This is especially helpful for larger weddings with lots of moving pieces and people – we can practice “our” parts together – it gives us a chance to be at the actual location with all the feels, catch our collective breaths, and run through the service step by step, including things like the bouquet hand-off, ring exchange, and maybe even your kiss!
Something to Remember: Love is still the best thing going!
